My Workplace Oct 11
My internship is called Martin Luther King Jr Middle School. It is a fairly large school. My internship is located in Hayward Ca and it has brand new buildings and is very large. There are many employees at my school with mostly likely 40 admin. the people who work at my internship have a 4 year degree or more. My internship serves young students who plan to have great futures. The strengths of my internship is that they teach student to be ,ature and grow up to be smart mature adults. I do not believe that there is a weakness about my internship because they help kids grow up and be smart and mature as previously said.

My Mentor Oct 18
My mentors name is Dr. Galvan. Dr. Galvan is this principal at Ruus Elementary. His typical day is working with parents, making sure they are happy with where their children go to school and making sure the parents know that there children are getting the education, and being safe. Also he works with students,
making sure that the students get there education so they can go on in life and be successful. My mentor is from San Diego. He moved to Hayward to take this job.

My Role Oct 25
I don't personally have any main roles at my internship. I work with Kindergartners and help the teachers with what needs to be done. I also help in the cafeteria at lunch. I clean the cafeteria when the students are finished eating and help supervise during recess and lunch. Another thing I do is help the office ladies with filing and paperwork that needs to be done. This has been my daily schedule since I have been interning at this school. A regular day for me is coming in saying hello to the lunch lady and going to the office to see what I should do for the day. Then I usually go to my kindergarten class and help Mrs. Lopez with her young students. At 10:10 I go out for recess duty then I go back and help with the class again until 11:45 at that time I go to Lunch and help the ladies clean and watch over the students. Then it is my lunch(: After my lunch I go and help the office ladies with anything they need help with during the day. That is my typical day.

Project Brainstorm Nov 1
For my project I would like to organize the student files. I came up this idea while I was trying to help file paperwork, and I noticed that the file records were very unorganized. I am excited to do this project because I know that I am helping the staff at Ruus Elementary. I am also excited because it will help me exceed my organization skills. The things I need for this project are files( hand File holders), which I have already talked to the office ladies, and they did say that they will order that for me. I will also need more time during my WLE to work on this project, meaning I will need to talk to Dr. Galvan and ask to get out of my kindergarten class so I can work on my project. I feel thayt this is all I will need to finishs this project on time.

Progress of my WLE Project Nov 8
Unfortunately I did not have time to work on my project because I was busy organizing the emergency files, so I was not able to start. Regarding my mentor, him and I talked about getting filing folders so I make the student files much neater. My mentor is very excited for me to do this. I also am very excited because I can help the school by making it easier for the ladies in the office to find files quickly. So far I was able to get the files and by next week I will be able to start.

Leadership Skills Nov 15
The leadership skills I am using is thinking critically because I have to think of a way to organize the files in a way that the office ladies can be able to figure it out and see the difference. Another one I used is completing projects effectively because I had to set goals and also create a plan to make sure that my project would be done by the end of WLE. Another one I use is communicating powerfully because I had to talk to the principle and make sure that it was okay that I did this and also make sure that the school had the funds for me to this project because the school had to order the files for me, I also have to organize all the files in a neat manner. I think I am using my leadership skills very well because I am very used to them and I am very well at using them. I do not think that I have to improve my skills in anyway. These leadership skills help me because I can organize the files, talk to the people I need to talk to and be able to communicate with them. I think the leader ship skill my mentor uses is Communicating Powerfully because he has to communicate with parents and also be organized with the papers and things he has. He also has to Inform parents and teachers about the up coming events and things that go on around the school.

What I Learned, Reflection Nov 22
From being at my internship I have learned that I like to organize this, such as files, papers, books, toys, anything there is to organize. A challenge I have faced in my WLE was not like something I do, which is very unfortunate but I am able to just push threw the day because I know that the staff needs my help during this time of the day an I do not want to have them have to work harder because I don't like doing something. I learned that I need to be on time everyday, if you are not on time then you are looked down upon during that day and people remember when you do something like that. At my internship I put my creativity to use by playing with little kids to help them understand things in a way that is easiest to them. I feel that my WLE effected the school I was at because they said they really appriciated the help that I have done and I know that they would like to have me stay. I believe that being a teacher is hard work and it's nothing simple in anyway. I practiced my communication skills because in order to be a teacher you have to find ways for students to learn in a way that is easiest to them. If someone were to ask me why what I did at my WLE was important I would say that I was there to help students, to be there for the faculty when they truely needed me and I think that is very important to me.

Professionalism Nov 29
In order to get hired at my internship I had to act very professional and mature like a grown up would be. The most effective way of looking for a job and getting hired is being professional, acting mature, dressing like a grown up in a professional way and make sure to act like an adult. As a result of my WLE I feel that being a professional or responsible adult in the work place means, being on time and making sure that everything is in order, make sure you act mature, and also not letting things get to you when people get on your nerves or just do not know how to act.
In order to get hired at my internship I had to act very professional and mature like a grown up would be. Life at my WLE, Dec. 6
Today at my WLE I worked with the Kindergarteners whom I am really sad that I am leaving. I also went and worked on my project and almost finished so that is great because I only have two more drawers to organize and then I will be finished with all of my project. I feel that I have improved as an intern because I am able to ask clarifying questions and feel comfortable while doing so. The thing about my workplace that I like is that everyone is so nice and welcoming and willing to have you work with them. Even the children are really sweet. I love everyone at my workplace because they act like your not an outsider.

My final thoughts about my WLE are that I can really appreciate teachers and what they do. I now know that it is hard for teachers to deal with students and is hard to come up with plans every day. I also appreciate the principles more because I do now recognize that they are always busy and are usually in meetings all day every day. Unfortunately I do not want to become a teacher because I feel that I would get over whelmed way to easily and that I would much rather look at teeth all day then have to make plans and take my work home at night. Although all of my WLE have been at schools and I am thankful that the schools excepted me in, I do still wish that I could have found an internship at a dentist office, which was my preferred place to work during the time of looking for a WLE.
